OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2009. This was announced by the Vice-Premier, the Minister of Economy of Moldova Valeriu Lazar, noting that reduction in the price of water by 50 bani per bottle should be expected after the current stocks are sold.

The Head of the Ministry of Economy said that mandatory labeling of the mineral water was abolished as it proved to be inefficient. Valeriu Lazar noted that it has led to the increased costs of the mineral water producers and resulted in growing disloyal competition at the market. Valeriu Lazar mentioned that taking into account all the costs related with labeling, the price of the mark makes 50-80 bani per bottle regardless of its capacity (0,25-2 liters).

The Head of the Ministry of Economy emphasized that the state trade mark was introduced to enhance the control over the quality and volume of the produced mineral water. However, according to experts, this control can be carried out without using the named trademark through automated information system that will provide data on the producers and the producers of mineral, potable water, soft drinks and their quality. Information will be placed at www.moldapa.md.
