OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2010. OMZ-Izhora Company, part of OMZ Group, has successfully passed the certification procedure of its Research Center (RC) by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) is one of the most famous and authoritative classification societies, which proclaims the high quality standards in shipbuilding. RMRS is a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). All activities of RMRS ensure high standard of safe navigation, worked out by global maritime community.

Inspection for a new term was held in full accordance with the rules of classification and construction of ships, as well as the rules of technical supervision of construction of vessels and the production of materials and products for the ships.

The certificate that is valid until December 2014 certifies that the RC has technical expertise in accordance with the requirements of Russian Maritime Register for testing in the field of recognition. The recognition of RC has traditionally provided a wide range of test products, among which the steel forgings, rolled sheet metal, pipes, castings, welded joints and surfacing, welding (cladding) materials, fluxes, the details of ship equipment.

Both parties also reached an agreement on mutual obligations for the period of Certificate of Recognition.
