OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2010. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has not submitted yet to Russia’s Gazprom the proposal for gas delivery in 2011.

Kamal Abbasov, the SOCAR Gas Export Department’s head, informs that such proposals should be made half-year before the start of supplies and they have not made them yet.

“We expect that in 2011 daily gas supply to Gazprom will increase from 3 million up to 5 million cu m a day. Real volume of supplies will depend on Russia’s demand and our technical capacities. It will be a kind of technical negotiations to concern the subject whether we’ll be able to deliver 5 million cu m and they’ll be able to receive them,” Abbasov said.

SOCAR’s contract commitments make at least 500 million cu m a year. In 2010 (the first year of supplies) SOCAR will really supply 1 bn cu m. At that, export price for Gazprom is tied in with the oil price and fluctuates together with the latter.
