OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. Moldova's exports to Russia in the first four months of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009 increased by 401.9% - to USD100.9 million. Import of Russian products to Moldova during the same period increased in 2,4 times - to USD 212.4 million, Russian share in the total Moldovan exports has increased from 19,2% to 24,3%, and imports - rose from 8,8% to 20,1%.

We remind, the negative trade balance of Moldova and Russia in 2009 amounted to USD 86.7 million, a decrease in 4,1 times in comparison with 2008. In particular, Moldovan exports to Russia in 2009 compared with 2008 decreased by 8,7% - to USD 286.5 million, import of Russian products to Moldova during the same period decreased by 44% - to USD 373.2 million, Russian share in the total volume of Moldovan exports increased last year from 19,7% to 22 , 1%, and imports - decreased from 13,6% to 11,4%.

The basis of Moldovan exports to Russia is traditionally the food and agricultural products - wine, brandy, fruit preserves, juices. The largest share in total imports from Russia accounted for energy.
