OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2010. Moscow Domodedovo Airport and AirBridgeCargo airline announce a new scheduled freighter service between Moscow (Domodedovo) and Frankfurt effective.

The direct flights will be operated on a weekly basis. AirBridgeCargo is the only freighter in Russia to connect international airports Frankfurt and Domodedovo. At the moment AirBridgeCargo operates 28 flights a week from Europe to Russia.

The new service is a part of domestic route network expansion plans.

AirBridgeCargo being a part of Volga-Dnepr Group is the leading Russian freighter airline. It operates scheduled flights Europe - RussiaAsia by Boeing 747 to 17 destinations in 12 countries. AirBridgeCargo performs scheduled flights from Asian airports: Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul to European cities: Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Maastricht, Zaragoza, Milano and Malmo. In 2009 the airline expanded its route network by adding new destinations in the Middle Asia: Almaty, Atyrau, Bishkek and Kabul. The air fleet features 9 freighters of Boeing 747 type (5 B747–400ERF, 1 B747-400ERF, 1 B747-400F, 2 B747-200 and 1 B747-300).

Volga-Dnepr is an international group operating charter and scheduled cargo flights. The Group comprises two largest Russian freighter airlines Volga-Dnepr (charters transporting extra heavy and oversized cargo by AN-124-100 and IL-76TD) and AirBridgeCargo (scheduled flights by Boeing 747).
