Ukraine to Regulate Price Situation on Food Market
OREANDA-NEWS. September 07, 2010. The Government plans to reform the food market to prevent unreasonable price increases for basic products and any market fluctuations. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said this during the presentation of the draft Tax Code.
In Mykola Azarov’s opinion, there are rather common in recent years cases of panic rising prices for flour, dairy products, sugar, now for buckwheat caused by "lack of a normal, civilized market in the country that has good compensators. "We will certainly create such a market", assured the PM and added: "For example, plantings of buckwheat have reduced this year, so we will create incentives to ensure that next year's crops increase as much as we need".
According to the Prime Minister, the current speculative situation is created artificially.
Mykola Azarov has urged citizens not to panic because the country has enough stocks of buckwheat. "And not just buckwheat – all you need for life in the country - absolutely enough, even over the odds", he stressed.
