OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2010. SOGAZ Insurance Group has signed a building and assembly risk insurance contract with OJSC Stroytransgaz which is executing a large scale construction project including three ultrahigh-voltage substations and three lines for power transmission from the 4th block of the Kalinin APP to the City of Moscow and Moscow Region.

Under the agreement, SOGAZ Insurance Group provides insurance of building and assembly risks and civil liability during the entire period of construction and the warranty service period of the facilities for power transmission from the 4th block of the Kalinin APP, including 500 KV and 750 KV transmission lines, 310 km long in total. OJSC Stroytransgaz will construct a total of 570 km of transmission lines and 4906 MVA of transformer capacity.

The insurer's aggregate liability limit exceeds RUB 34.5 billion. The contract was signed after an open competition that involved four insurance companies.

The construction of substations and transmission lines, which is to be finished in 2012, would allow for a significant decrease of the energy shortage in Moscow and the Moscow Region, providing over 1 GWt of power from the Kalinin APP to the capital.
