OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2011. Belarus has imposed an embargo on import of Moldovan wines, Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat said at a government meeting on Wednesday.

“Belarus suspended the issue of certificates for import of wines and cognacs from Moldova and Georgia,” Filat said, citing a statement of the Belarusian side.

He demanded that ministers should investigate into reasons behind the decision of Belarus.

Belarus is the second-largest importer of Moldovan wines after Russia.
