OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2012. SCM has transferred shares of Marine Industrial Complex and Avlita Stevedoring Company to Portinvest, the Group’s port holding.

The transactions took place as part of the formation of Portinvest holding, which is 100% owned by SCM Group. Portinvest is primarily responsible for strategic management of SCM Group's transportation assets and implementation of new investment projects.

Portinvest is a transportation holding responsible for strategic management of the SCM Group’s port assets: Avlita (Sevastopol) and Marine Industrial Complex (Sevastopol).

Avlita Stevedoring Company has two deepwater berths in the warm-water Sevastopol Bay in the southwest of the Crimean peninsula. The company handles metal shipments and operates a grain terminal with storage capacity of 100 tonnes. The berth facilities of the Company consist of 23 berth cranes including 5 mobile port cranes “Liebherr” and “Gottwald” of the last generation.

Marine Industrial Complex, one of the largest businesses in Azov-Black Sea area, specialises in ship repairing and building. It is located at the intersection of major sea trade routes from Mediterranean to Russian and Ukrainian ports in the south-western coast of the Crimea.
