Tata Power Helps Binapani High School In Jamshedpur
OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power India’s largest integrated power company has been associated with improving infrastructure of various educational institutions across the country. In one such initiative in Jamshedpur, it helped Binapani High School through various initiatives like construction of one block and helping the school by setting up rain water harvesting structure in order to ensure that the runoff from the large fields was available with school and the roof tops of school building was utilised properly.
Tata Power’s efforts were appreciated by the school in the recent Annual Day of Binapani High School, Dhanchatani, Jamshedpur held on 4th Feb 2013. The school principal acknowledged the contributions of organisations including Tata Power, TSRDS and others in ensuring that the school got all the facilities required to become self sufficient.
The principal made special mention of the Rain Water Harvesting project being installed by Tata Power. 10000 cubic metre water will be captured per year through roof top harvesting and ground run off in the open fields of school. The school has 280 students and approximately 7000 persons reside around the vicinity of the school who will be the beneficiary of the project.
Mr. Ajay Kumar, MP of Jamshedpur graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Mr. D. S Kudalkar, Head – Jojobera Station was the Guest of honour. They along with the school principal gave the prizes to students for performing well at academics and sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. D. S Kudalkar, Head – Jojobera Station, said, “We are happy to be associated with this noble cause of providing education in this remote location and we look forward to continuing our association”.
