OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2013. Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov identified a continuing need for work on cleaning and beautification of the country. He said this during a meeting of the Government.

"Uniting around a simple, but in practice useful work should be continued. The work on the landscaping and environmental improvement is needed to continue, at least until the May holidays as the holidays are long," Mykola Azarov said.

At the same time, he instructed the heads of regional administrations during the holidays to ensure scope of work and technical support to both public services and volunteers.

According to him, 334 thousand workers of housing and communal services can not provide a constant order, so the consciousness of Ukrainians, their assistance are very much needed to the country.

The Head of the Government stressed the need to equip the garbage collection areas in the territories of rest and clean them permanently. "People should not only be urged to behave environmentally, to foster a culture, but also to provide the conditions for this," Mykola Azarov said, adding that it is necessary not only to restore order, but also to maintain it constantly.

According to him even after such a massive Environment Day, which took place last Saturday in Ukraine, the country is still far can not be called exemplary cleaned. "You can count on the fingers the years when, for example, notable capital investments were allocated to housing and communal services. In 2004, 2006, and in recent years," the Prime Minister said.

Mykola Azarov stressed: that it is time to step by step, city by city, province by province to create the optimal structure of the management and maintenance of public utilities, and equip them with the latest technology in the first place - the cleaning machinery and mini cars for municipal facilities, create stockpile of tools and materials for extreme applications, to which the public is involved, and so on.

He stressed the need of work out of "road maps" of modernization of urban and housing and communal services, consistent with the energy industry workers, road builders, builders, water management and local authorities.

"This work I have instructed to Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul who knows the problem. At least once a quarter the Government will consider how it is carried out," Mykola Azarov said.
