OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2013. Forty years ago, in 1973, the first product - an inner tube of 6.15 x13 size for "Lada" car rolled off the production line of the Nizhnekamsk tire factory. Commissioning of the tire manufacturing facilities and the first products output in Tatarstan pre-determined the appearance of a new tire industry branch in Tatarstan.

TATNEFT Company has been developing the petrochemical activity since 2000. The Company has invested more than 30 billion rubles over the years into the development of the tire manufacturing complex and brought it to an entirely new level of development. A great deal of work has been performed with regard to upgrading the technology, reconstruction and modernization of the production and implementation of large-scale social programs.

The tire manufacturing complex of TATNEFT today includes high-tech tire manufacturing factories: JSC "Nizhnekamskshina", "Nizhnekamsk Truck Tires" and "Nizhnekamsk SSC Tire Factory". The share of products of this Company's business segment in the Russian tire production accounts for more than 30%. Every fifth Russian car owner chooses the tires of KAMA or KAMA EURO brands.

The tire manufacturing factories of the complex produce more than 190 tire commodity items: passenger car, agricultural, commercial, light truck and solid steel cord tires. The "Kama" Trading House, which is a general distributor, is an exporter of the products to 70 countries. The tire products of the JSC TATNEFT's petrochemical complex are used for initial assembly of vehicles produced by such auto makers as "AvtoVAZ", "KAMAZ", "GAZ Group", "NEFAZ", "Izh-Auto", "Sollers", "Volkswagen Group Rus" and other manufacturers.

The results of the technical production facilities re-equipment and improvement of the products quality have been evaluated by the auditors of URS, British certification body. Based on the results of the regular compliance audit all tire manufacturing enterprises of the complex have received a certificate confirming compliance of the quality management system with the requirements of ISO 9001, and ISO/TS 16949 international standards. In addition, the car manufacturing factories "AvtoVAZ", "KAMAZ", "PAZ", "URALAZ" assigned the category of a "reliable supplier" to the tire manufacturing factories of TATNEFT.
