OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2013. Bank of China (BOC) collaborating with China UnionPay and China Mobile launched mobile payment business. Vice president of BOC, Mr. Zhu Shumin, participated in the product launch ceremony. Pilot project of this business will be conducted in Shanghai and Ningbo, and then will be expanded all over the country.

With this new service launched by BOC, customers only need a smart phone and a special SIM card to complete credit card binding, e-cash transferring, consumption payment and other payments on the mobile phone.

The BOC mobile payment business covers the Quick Pass merchants already approved by UnionPay. The applicable phones include six types of smart phones such as Samsung S4. BOC will collaborate with China Mobile to provide financial services such as installment payment to the customers who buy the applicable phones.

The UnionPay has already provided excellent service environment to a large number of Quick Pass merchants in Shanghai. In order to better promote the products landing and improve the customer experience, Shanghai Branch of BOC will collaborate with "Family Mart" in Shanghai to provide the first group of customers of mobile payment service with exclusive consumption preferences, which will begin in the middle of this September. Customers participating in the activity could enjoy firsthand experience of mobile-phone payment at "Family Mart".
