OREANDA-NEWS. United Metallurgical Company (CJSC OMK, Moscow) has installed large diameter pipes as part of a project to develop the Khancheyskoe field, which is located in the Yamalo-Nenets Automonous District. The field is being developed by NOVATEK. The installation required 29,000 tonnes (approximately 190 km of pipes). 530mm pipes (with a a wall thickness of 12 and 14 mm) were made from K60 grade steel with corrosion-resistant coating at Vyksa Steel Works (JSC VSW, Nizhny Novgorod, a part of OMK).

“OMK supplies pipes for key strategic oil and gas projects, both in Russia and abroad. This promising collaboration with NOVATEK offers new opportunities for our company,” OMK President Vladimir Markin commented on the delivery of the pipes.
