Ukraine Supports Project on Waste Water Treatment at Bystrytsya River
OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2013. An environmental project on waste water treatment into the Bystrytsya River in Ivano-Frankivsk is implemented with the support of the Government. This was announced by vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul during a meeting on implementing World Bank’s projects in Ukraine.
"The government carries the system work to raise funds from international financial institutions for projects to modernize the utilities. The Urban Infrastructure Project of the World Bank is being implemented in 14 cities of Ukraine. Project cost is USD 140 million," Olexandr Vilkul said.
The World Bank is a source of funding for this project under the Urban Infrastructure Project in Ukraine. The total cost of the project is about USD 11 million.
A new modern unit for water treatment, lab equipment to find leaks and chemical analysis of liquids is set at the activated sludge plant in Ivano-Frankivsk. The next step is the second phase of the project, the construction of sludge recycling line with production of biogas.
