OREANDA-NEWS.  December 06, 2013. By the North-West Basin Branch Order dated 20.11.2013 No.1269 the procedure for the provision of services in the waters of the Big Port of St. Petersburg Seaport to receive, transportation, disposal or placement of shipboard wastes generated during the normal operation of the vessel and shall be continuously or periodically removed (except ballast water, waste connected with cargo, waste connected with cleaning cargo and fuel tanks), for all the time spent in port was approved.

The main developments are connected with the changes in an application form for withdrawal of ship-generated waste and a receipt form for delivery of ship-generated waste, which are issued in accordance with Annex V of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL 73/78).

In addition, the deadline for submitting an application for withdrawal of ship-generated waste was modified: for all the vessels an application must be filed no later than 24 hours before the vessel's call to the Big Port of St. Petersburg Seaport.

The new order comes into force from January 1, 2014
