OREANDA-NEWS. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has completed the capital repair of the conveyer C-19 with АС-19 inclined burden discharger of Ore Benefication Plant No. 1 of mining department of the plant. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has invested 15.3 mln UAH to this capital repair that lasted almost eight months.

During overhaul all steel structures of the conveyer were torn down and new supporting steel structures were assembled and erected. In the course of the repair the supporting steel structures as well as roller supports were replaced, snub pulleys and electrical equipment including light and sound signaling systems, end switches and illumination were also replaced. As part of the repair project the supporting structures of the ore beneficiation building underwent a major overhaul: reinforced-concrete parts supporting beams were restored. These elements carry the load from the conveyer and inclined burden discharger. Worked-out steel structures of frame were restored and paths along С-19 conveyer were concreted. New concrete lining is very important both to ensure seamless operations and improve working conditions for the conveyer operators.

Volodymyr Priymachenko, Head of CIS Mining Plants of ArcelorMittal: "The conveyer C-19 transports iron ore to sections 4-8 of the ore benefication facility. The АС-19 inclined burden discharger moves along the conveyer to evenly distribute iron ore to bunkers of Ore Benefication Plant No. 1. Equal distribution of ore in bunkers is important for operations as it helps eliminate production losses. This repair will enable stable process and reduce the risk of unplanned downtime at Ore Benefication Plant No. 1 sites, which leads to loss of volumes and increased cost of concentrate".
