Kinder sees higher demand on Cochin in 2016
OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2016. Kinder Morgan is budgeting for an 8.9pc increase in NGL throughput on its systems from 2015 levels due to increased demand for condensate and other liquids on the Cochin pipeline, according to an analyst presentation today.
In 2015, total NGL volumes on Kinder's systems rose 52pc from the prior year as the company recorded the full-year impact of reversal of Cochin, which now carries up to 95,000 b/d of natural gasoline and other diluents from the US to western Canada.
The projection comes even as lower crude prices stand to curb production from oil sands.
Separately, Kinder noted it received FERC approval in September for its planned 50,000 b/d Utopia East ethane/propane mix pipeline to carry Marcellus feedstock from Harrison county, Ohio, north to Windsor, Ontario. Kinder is acquiring right-of-way for the project, which is tentatively slated to go into service at the start of 2018.
