OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a possible complication of the food situation in the poor countries of the world. In his opinion, some states will try to buy food, which will lead to a shortage of food.

Developed states through the mechanism of financial emission will try to repurchase, pull over food flows, thereby, of course, they will inevitably exacerbate the shortage of food in the poorest regions of the world, spur new waves of migration and, in general, drive world food prices even higher, - said President at a meeting on supporting the agro-industrial complex.

Putin also spoke about the need to protect the food market from price fluctuations. He noted that the domestic market is fully provided with its own food products in the main areas. This means that prices should be kept below the world level.

Professor of the Basic Department of Trade Policy of the Russian University of Economics G. V. Plekhanov Ibragim Ramazanov said earlier that due to the growth of sanctions pressure in the world, a decrease in food production is becoming a reality. Logistics is collapsing, there is a shortage of fertilizers and energy carriers, he noted.
