OREANDA-NEWSCanadian Kinross Gold, one of the world's largest gold producers, is open for partnership in gold mining in Russia, including the company's new project - the Chulbatkan deposit in the Khabarovsk Territory, its president and CEO Paul Rollinson told the Russian media. He came to Moscow to attend a meeting of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council, which was chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Monday.

Kinross Gold has been mining gold in the Far East since 1995, for nine months of 2019 the company increased production in Chukotka (Kupol deposit, initial reserves - 24 million ounces, but they are already depleted) by 13.7%, up to 8.3 tons. In August, the company acquired Chulbatkan gold project in the Khabarovsk Territory for $ 283 million with reserves of 3.91 million ounces of gold from the company of the former General Director of Polyus, Evgeny Ivanov, and plans to invest about $ 500 million in its development. According to the results of the first half of 2019, the company entered the top three gold mining companies in Russia.

The agenda of the last meeting of the council, according to the head of Kinross, was completely devoted to issues of doing business in Russia - predictability of regulation, guarantees for investors, and also touched upon issues of health and the environment.
