OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2016. The Supervisory Board of Telekom Deutschland GmbH appointed two new directors today. Ferri Abolhassan, currently responsible for the IT Division and for setting up Telekom Security at T-Systems International GmbH, Deutsche Telekom's corporate customer arm, will take on the newly created position of Director of Service Transformation at Telekom Deutschland GmbH effective October 1, 2016. There will be a further change in the role of Director of Technology. Bruno Jacobfeuerborn will take over as Managing Director of Deutsche Funkturm GmbH and will additionally transfer to the newly created Technology and Innovation Board department as Chief Technology Officer, both effective January 1, 2017. His successor as Head of Technology at Telekom Deutschland will be announced shortly.

Improving service
"With our TD 2018 strategy program, which focuses very strongly on network build-out and restructuring, we have laid the foundations for further success in Germany. Now we need to drive forward the transformation," said Niek Jan van Damme, Board Member for Germany at Deutsche Telekom AG. In the future, Telekom Deutschland plans to bundle its services into a single service unit with the uniform management of all service activities, focusing from start to finish on customer needs. This should help the company create an even stronger focus on service for the customer, says van Damme, while at the same time building on its role as a pioneer in technology and service."I am very pleased that Ferri Abolhassan will now be able to contribute his expertise and his experience in such a decisive area. He brought service quality at T-Systems to a new level and will also provide new, important impetus at Telekom Deutschland. I would like to thank Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, a colleague of mine for many years, for his commitment. Bruno brought together the previously separate areas of fixed network and mobile communication into a single, fantastic team that built up the best network in Germany for our customers. I wish him all the very best in his work in the future," added the Board member for Germany.

Agreement reached with the employee representatives
The merging of the service areas is a major component of an agreement reached with the employee representatives on the development of Telekom Deutschland. It also includes the flexible organization of working hours in the service and technology areas: Weekly working hours can be increased by up to four hours, depending on requirements, or, as of 2019, can also be reduced. The reason for this includes regional differences in network build-out. According to Martin Seiler, HR Director at Telekom Deutschland, "This allows us new breathing space in our HR planning looking towards the future, so that we can meet the dynamic challenges posed by the competition and can tackle growing levels of digitization."
