OREANDA-NEWS The Tagansky court of Moscow found the Telegram messenger guilty of refusing to delete information prohibited in the Russian Federation.
"Telegram was found guilty of committing two administrative offenses, for which an administrative fine totaling 10 million 800 thousand rubles was imposed," the court said.
The messenger was found guilty of failing to take measures to delete information prohibited in the Russian Federation (Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation).
In recent years, the largest Internet services - Google, Telegram, Facebook (an information resource of an organization banned in the Russian Federation), Twitter, TikTok, Wikimedia Foundation, Twitch - have repeatedly been held accountable in Russia for not removing prohibited content. Russian courts have imposed multimillion-dollar fines on companies, some of which have already been recovered.
On the eve of February 10, Roskomnadzor announced that it would continue to impose consistent restrictions on Telegram, as the company still does not comply with the requirements of Russian legislation. RCN began to restrict the work of the messenger in August.
