OREANDA-NEWS  In 2025, the profits of the largest fast food chains in Russia collapsed. The fact that fast food chains began to earn less, with reference to the accounting data of the companies, reports Kommersant.

According to the documentation, Unirest LLC (Rostic's) profit fell by 27.5 percent, to 4.1 billion rubles. Sistema PBO LLC (Deliciously— Period) saw its revenue decrease by 15.1 percent, to 14.4 billion rubles, while Burger Rus LLC (Burger King) decreased by 61 percent, to 637.6 million rubles.

In earlier years, the profits of Unirest and Sistema grew by 60.4 percent year-on-year and by 19.7 percent, respectively. Only at Burger Rus, the indicator decreased by 9.2 percent.

Unirest explained the trend with the investment program being implemented — more than 80 new restaurants were opened in 2025, and they plan to surpass this figure in 2026. According to Valeria Popova, Rikom-Trust, fast food's profits are declining due to increased operating costs - rising staff costs, rising ingredient prices amid inflation and logistical problems.

In 2026, the McDonald's fast food restaurant chain, which left Russia, registered a trademark in the country for the sale of sandwiches. The company applied to Rospatent in December 2024, but it was not until January 2026 that the agency decided to register the McWrap trademark. Under it, fast food intends to sell closed sandwiches with various fillings, as well as burgers, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and rolls.
