OREANDA-NEWS  Roskomnadzor did not inform the State Duma Committee on Information Policy about the complaints about the work of the Telegram messenger. He also promised to contact the agency with an official request to clarify the reports about the slowing of the messenger.

"A dozen sources have already disseminated information about the blocking of Telegram. But this information is published in the same messenger," said the deputy. — We have a law, Roskomnadzor operates within its framework. And, if we are talking about the official side of the issue, then the Committee did not discuss the problem with the legislative framework of Telegram. Roskomnadzor also did not inform us about problems with compliance with the law."

Yushchenko added that he was not in favor of blocking, as they create additional inconveniences for users, and suggested waiting for official statements from Roskomnadzor.

"Our cellular connection is abominably working, and the Internet. There are slowdowns, other security—related restrictions - maybe that's the problem. In any case, the State Duma Committee is not aware of Roskomnadzor's claims to the messenger. We will try to officially request information to clarify the situation," the politician concluded.

Earlier, a number of media outlets reported that Roskomnadzor would start slowing down Telegram in Russia. According to sources in the information technology market and in relevant departments, restrictive measures will be introduced as early as Tuesday, February 10. Roskomnadzor did not comment on this information.
