An "anti-spyware" smartphone has been introduced in Russia

"The Russian smartphone is presented on its own operating system. The device was named "R-BACKGROUND", and the operating system was named "ROSA Mobile". This is a joint project of two Russian technology companies JSC "STC IT ROSA" and JSC "Rutek" ... "R-FON" will be available for order in 2024, and purchase applications will start on December 18. The company added that 10 gigabytes of cloud storage and 128 gigabytes of internal memory are available in the smartphone. The device has a phone, messages, settings, browser, gallery, clock, calculator and calendar. It is noted that the gadget is equipped with ROSA ID, a service that combines all the company's mobile products, the ROSA Market application store and the ROSA Disk cloud service for storing documents, photo and video content.
"The new OS will be distributed only on trusted devices. This is how you can guarantee maximum data security," said Oleg Karpitsky, CEO of STC IT ROSA, adding that the device will not support VPN services.
The Russian smartphone, which is assembled in Saransk from imported spare parts, has Gorilla Glass 5, weighs 189 grams and is 7.96 millimeters thick. It has a MediaTek helio G99 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in memory. The smartphone is equipped with a camera with 50 megapixels and a high-aperture F/1.8, and a selfie camera with 16 megapixels and an aperture F/2.5.
The company also said that in early 2024 it will introduce a service that will help switch from familiar operating systems to the ROSA OS. In addition, in the first half of the year, audio and video calls in a messenger based on a domestic OS, an application payment service and full support for Android applications will be available. In the second half of next year, the smartphone will add its own browser, a single workspace and other applications.
