OREANDA-NEWS  Tariffs for home Internet and other fixed-line services in Russia may increase by 10-15 percent in 2024. This was told to Izvestia by the general director of the TelecomDaily agency Denis Kuskov.

According to him, such figures were given by the majority of the largest Russian Internet providers (over 43 percent of respondents). Another 13 percent suggested that the increase would be 16 percent or higher. At the same time, a quarter of respondents expressed the opinion that the growth rate will be at the level of 3-9 percent, and 18 percent of companies admitted that tariffs will not change.

It is noted that the main reason for the business was the increase in costs, primarily the cost of purchasing equipment, which has risen in price due to the departure of many foreign vendors. In addition, experts point to an increase in operating costs, rents, as well as a shortage of qualified personnel and difficulties with cross-border payments and logistics. At the same time, experts stressed that despite the growth, communication tariffs in Russia remain among the lowest in the world.

Earlier, Russian mobile operators were obliged to cancel the payment for the distribution of Internet from smartphones. The corresponding order was issued by the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
