OREANDA-NEWS  Roskomnadzor has added the Zen, RuTube and Twitch platforms to the register of social networks to monitor their compliance with the requirements of Russian legislation. This was reported in the press service of the department.

Appropriate notifications were sent to the owners of the sites.

Earlier, Deputy head of Roskomnadzor Vadim Subbotin commented on the creation of a register of social networks. A representative of the regulator said that now companies will have to independently remove content banned in Russia and publish reports on their work.

According to Subbotin, the inclusion of the social network in the register imposes on it the obligation to independently monitor information that violates Russian law. "The main idea is to promptly, without the participation of government agencies, take measures to remove illegal content, including trash streams, which it is extremely difficult to block promptly with the participation of government agencies. It takes some time," he said.
