OREANDA-NEWS. The State Council of the People's Republic of China has published a document on the need to strengthen the level of culture on the Internet and its compliance with the ideals of socialism with Chinese specifics. A document published on Tuesday by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council of the People's Republic of China entitled "Opinion on strengthening the construction of culture on the Internet" prescribes relevant departments and local authorities to strengthen control over this area.

As it notes, this is an important task for turning China into an "Internet power" and " meeting the demand of Chinese society for a better life." "It is necessary to strengthen the ideological sphere, culture and education, norms of behavior and morality in the cybernetic space," the document says. According to the authorities, large websites, applications and blogs will have to convey to the public and the younger generation the key values of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The Government also demands to raise the level of awareness of the younger generation about the norms of behavior on the Internet and to protect teenagers from Internet addiction and online bullying. For these purposes, special mechanisms will be created with the participation of local authorities, schools, parents and the public.

The document of the State Council notes that the government will pay special attention to the fight against offenses on the Internet and "uncultured behavior" on the network, among the examples of which are "live broadcasts for the sale of goods".
