OREANDA-NEWS  The management of Vimpelcom (Beeline brand) has signed an agreement to buy the company from Veon Holding. This is stated in the company's statement. Against this background, shares on the Moscow Stock Exchange are growing by 15%.

According to the terms of the deal, VEON will receive 130 billion rubles from the sale. It is planned to complete the transaction by June 1, 2023, with the right of the parties to extend the deadline if the necessary licenses and permits of regulatory authorities are not obtained.

According to Beeline CEO Alexander Torbakhov, it was possible to form the most balanced offer for the VEON Group. The Russian operator will keep the development concepts. For Beeline's clients, "everything will remain the same."

According to RBC sources, Vimpelcom will assume a share of VEON's debt — $8.2 billion after the sale.

Earlier today, the head of the Ministry of Finance Maksut Shadaev commented on the sale of the Russian telecom operator, saying that this is one of the discussed schemes.

In early November, VEON announced a tender for the sale of Vimpelcom. The holding wants to achieve "an optimal result for all interested parties." The sale began in connection with the sanctions imposed on the Dutch VEON.
