OREANDA-NEWS In January-September, compared with the same period last year, China reduced exports of petroleum products to the United States by 46% to $ 516.2 million, RIA Novosti found out after examining Chinese customs data.

September shipments totaled $42.9 million, showing a decrease in both monthly and annual terms. Over the year, they sank by almost a quarter, while over the month the negative dynamics was even higher - a decrease of more than half. The drop was equally noticeable in September 2024 by August of the same year.

The United States holds a fairly modest share in Chinese exports of petroleum products - in September, it consumed only 1.3% of foreign supplies. Traditionally, in this regard, China is more focused on its closest neighbors in the region - more than 40% of exports in September were to Hong Kong and Singapore. And the third place among the largest importers of Chinese petroleum products was taken by Liberia, which increased imports by a significant 36%.
