Europe predicted excessive dependence on American gas

OREANDA-NEWS Against the background of large-scale disruptions in energy supplies from the Middle East due to the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz, the dependence of European countries on imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States will continue to increase in the foreseeable future. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the forecast of analysts at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA).
By 2028, experts expect that the United States will account for the vast majority (80 percent) of European LNG imports. The excessive dependence of the European Union (EU) on the supply of American liquefied natural gas will create risks for regional consumers, as exporters from the United States will actually be able to dictate their price conditions to them.
