OREANDA-NEWS Gas reserves in Europe's underground storage facilities are heading for a historic low, Gazprom has warned.
"Gas reserves in Europe's underground storage facilities are tending to a historical minimum. According to Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), as of January 12, the occupancy rate of Europe's UGS facilities decreased to 53% – 53.9 billion cubic meters of gas remained in them," the company said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
It is specified that this is 4.1 billion cubic meters less than on the same date in the winter season of 2017/2018, the most severe for European storage facilities. At that time, the historically maximum volume of gas was selected from them, and the remaining reserves turned out to be at the lowest level in all the years of observation.
