OREANDA-NEWS The current ban on Rosstat publishing data on oil and gas production in Russia has been extended until April 1, 2026. The relevant government decree is posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
The document signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin amends the order, adopted back in 2023, only in the date column, where the expiration date was previously indicated on April 1, 2025.
Until 2023, Rosstat published monthly data on oil production with and without gas condensate. In August 2024, the government also closed statistics on the production of petroleum products.
In the absence of official information, the media and market participants are guided in their estimates by the calculations of analysts and relevant organizations, which the official authorities do not comment on.
Such data, in particular, is provided by OPEC. In the April report, the organization indicated that in March, oil production in Russia (excluding gas condensate, gas condensate (Russian statistics include it) amounted to 8,963 million barrels per day, which is 10,000 barrels lower than in February.
