OREANDA-NEWS Croatian Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic proposed that Hungary and Slovakia completely replace Russian oil supplies through the Adriatic Pipeline, which begins in the republic. He posted the corresponding fragment from the CNN interview on the social network X, RBC reports. According to him, the route's capacity is sufficient to guarantee the pumping of more than 12 million tons of oil of the required grades, and this amount will be enough for refineries in both republics.

Plenkovich recalled that US President Donald Trump attributed Washington's increased pressure on Russia to the rejection of Russian oil by European countries, and Hungary and Slovakia were its main buyers. If Budapest and Bratislava would stop obstructing such a decision by the European Union, Croatia has an alternative ready for them. "We believe that there is no risk to oil supplies to our two neighboring countries, which we would like to help with energy security," the politician stressed. However, he suggested that Hungary and Slovakia are worried not so much about the physical possibility of supplies as about the cost of shipments. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal found out that Europe would not use duties as a tool of sanctions against India and China at Trump's request. Analysts have noted that the US president may make impossible demands to justify the lack of any action on his part.
