OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Ministry of Finance is not preparing or even discussing tax breaks for Gazprom and Transneft, because there is no money in the budget for these purposes. This was stated by Deputy head of the department Alexei Sazanov in response to a question, RIA Novosti reports.

"We don't have the opportunity to give any additional tax benefits or preferences," the official stressed.

Similarly, he commented on the idea of benefits for hard-to-recover oil reserves (TRIZ). According to Sazanov, the oil companies provide financial models, and the agency will study them, but there are no plans for changes within the current three-year budget. He recalled that the budget had been adopted with a deficit, and such assistance would worsen it.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance has repeatedly noted that they are not ready to provide tax support to oil companies for the development of TRIZ.

At the same time, experts warn that without an increase in the cost of hard-to-recover reserves, oil production in Russia will begin to fall in the near future.
