OREANDA-NEWS. The first tanker consignment of liquefied gas of Yamal LNG was shipped by Yamal LNG to Japan. This action was organized within operation of the long-term contract with Total concern. Information on an event was provided by Novatek.

As the head of "Novatekaa" Leonid Mikhelson noted, the transshipment terminal of the company constructed on Kamchatka is a way of expansion of deliveries of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Japan.

The Russian side emphasizes that the beginning of shipments on the Japanese market is an important event and one of the priority directions of business strategy.

The Yamal LNG plant began on December 5, 2017 liquefied natural gas production (LNG) on the first technological line with design capacity of 5.5 million tons of LNG a year. Two loadings of the tanker, the first on December 8 last year, the second – in August, 2018 were made. The following waiting list for loading is appointed to the middle of November of the current year.
