OREANDA-NEWS  Russian oil supplies have recovered, with China taking the lead. Experts attribute this to the fact that US President Donald Trump imposed duties on India, Bloomberg reports.

As specified, the volume of crude oil supplies to China has changed in the opposite direction — it reached a five-month high of 1.28 million barrels per day. At the same time, the total volume of weekly crude oil supplies from domestic ports increased by 770,000 barrels per day to a seven—week high of 3.49 million barrels, analysts say. The indicator has risen over the previous seven days.

According to the agency, the volume of oil in tankers bound for India remained below 1.3 million barrels per day in the four weeks to August 31, which is about a third less than the March peak. However, the situation with supplies to China has improved, showing overcoming a five-month high of 1.28 million barrels per day.

Earlier it was reported that India intends to increase pharmaceutical exports to Russia due to US pressure. Other promising destinations include Brazil and the Netherlands.

Increased US duties on a number of categories of Indian goods came into force at the end of August. The reason for the White House administration's decision was the ongoing purchases of Russian oil. They have repeatedly stated that New Delhi's imports of Russian energy resources "finance the continuation of hostilities in Ukraine."
