OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of 2024, Belarus has supplied 11.7 million pieces of chicken eggs to Russia, which is twice as much as in the same period of 2023. This was announced on Tuesday, January 9, by the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The ministry stressed that Belarus is a stable supplier of edible eggs to Russia. According to FGIS Argus, the Russian market has received an average of more than 630 million pieces of edible chicken eggs per year over the past four years, RIA Novosti reports.

In December 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier jokingly asked his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko to deliver a batch of chicken eggs to the country to stabilize prices. During the story of the head of Belarus about the agricultural achievements of the country, the Russian leader smiled and joked: "Give us some. Don't be greedy!"

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has promised that the stabilization of the cost of chicken eggs in Russia is predicted in the coming month due to imports of this product. At the same time, negotiations with friendly countries on increasing supplies are continuing.
