According to the agency, in April, Russian companies imported tomatoes from China for $ 9 million, which is 5% more than the same month last year. Imports were the highest since May 2019.

As a result, Russia became the main buyer of Chinese tomatoes in April, displacing Kyrgyzstan.

At the same time, Chinese companies increased potato supplies to Russia by 19 times in annual terms, to an all-time high of $11.2 million. Cabbage exports increased by 11% compared to April last year and amounted to 4.5 million dollars. At the same time, onion sales, on the contrary, decreased by 14%, to 6.1 million dollars.

In general, over the four months of this year, Russia increased imports of Chinese tomatoes by 8% to $26.6 million, onions by a fifth to $25 million, potatoes by 22 times to $22.2 million, and cabbage by a quarter to $13.1 million.
