OREANDA-NEWS The manufacturer and distributor of Coca-Cola products has warned Russian customers in the catering sector about price increases. From March 14, soda prices will rise by 15%, juices will rise by 19%, and coffee by 30%. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to a letter received by customers of Coca-Cola HBC Russia. The revision of prices takes place against the background of the suspension of the Coca-Cola Company in Russia.

The price could also be affected by the increase in the cost of logistics, ingredients and packaging due to the depreciation of the ruble, experts interviewed by the publication believe.

According to a newspaper source at one of the Russian beverage companies, raw materials have recently risen in price by 50-100%, and supply disruptions have become even more frequent. According to him, domestic beverage producers will also raise prices.

One of Coca-Cola's main competitors, American PepsiCo, previously announced that it would suspend sales of Pepsi, Mirinda and 7Up in Russia. On March 9, the Russian office of PepsiCo stopped accepting orders for these types of soda for the next 3 days, which it notified partners about, Kommersant reported.

According to Euromonitor International, in 2019 Coca-Cola occupied 6.2% of the Russian soft drinks market, PepsiCo - 5.2%. A noticeable increase occurred in 2021 for the Coca-Cola brand. The share of this brand increased from 0.8% to 0.9% of all sales of consumer goods in the amount of 5.76 trillion rubles.
