OREANDA-NEWS Oleg Pavlov, the head of the Public Consumer Initiative (OPI), called on the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia and the Rosselkhoznadzor to withdraw animal feed from the retail and online sales of Hill's and Farmin companies. This is reported by Izvestia.

In his appeal, he pointed out the regular violations of sanitary requirements by feed producers. In particular, he noted not only "the facts of falsification, but also the presence of dangerous components." Pavlov stressed that the brands' products are widely represented both in regular stores and on online platforms. This, in turn, creates serious risks for the pets of millions of consumers, he said.

Earlier it was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor suspended the certification of all Italian and French manufacturers of cat and dog food from February 6. The reason for this decision was the violations that were found in the feed of these manufacturers. It is separately noted that arsenic was found in some of them. Petfood, La Normandise, Agranda Petfood, Hill's and Nestle Italiana Spa are among the brands whose certification will be suspended.
