OREANDA-NEWS  Russia has been fully self-sufficient with meat for the fourth year in a row - in 2025, self-sufficiency amounted to 102.2%, according to Rosstat data, which was studied by RIA Novosti.

For the first time in recent history, the indicator exceeded the 100% mark in 2020 (100.1%), after which it decreased to 99.7% in 2021. In 2022-2025, self-sufficiency in meat amounted to 101.8%, 101.7%, 101.9% and 102.2%, respectively, by year.

Last year, self-sufficiency in meat exceeded 100% in 27 regions of the country. The highest level among Russian regions was recorded in the Belgorod region - 1027.7% (the indicator exceeded the 1,000% mark for the first time in at least the last five years). In 10 more regions, including Mordovia, Bryansk, Lipetsk, Kursk regions, self-sufficiency in meat exceeded 100% by 2 or more times.
