OREANDA-NEWS Muscovite Evgeny Smirnov appealed to the Investigative Committee with a request to check the manufacturer of sportswear and shoes Nike. The man believes that the company discriminates against light-skinned people. Smirnov made this conclusion due to the fact that almost all the models on the company's website are people of the Negroid and Mongoloid race, while "the absolute majority of Russians" are Caucasians.

Smirnov told RIA "Novosti" that he tried to solve the problem with racial diversity by contacting customer support. He offered them "free assistance in selecting models to eliminate racial imbalance." Representatives of the company refused the initiative. They also did not explain the principles by which they choose models for the Russian site.

Such a policy of the company is the imposition of Western values and stereotypes that are alien to European and Slavic culture, the man believes. "The unwillingness to eliminate the racial imbalance and listen to the opinion of a representative of the race that makes up the majority of the population of the country is a direct fact of discrimination and disrespect for the population of the country," he stressed.

The Investigative Committee has already accepted the Muscovite's statement. The European press service of Nike has not yet commented on Smirnov's statement.
