OREANDA-NEWS The growth of parallel imports to Russia has led to a shortage of warehouses in the CIS countries, the volume of requests from Russian companies for warehouse space in the post-Soviet countries is estimated at 400 thousand square meters. m. This is stated in a study by the consulting company NF Group.

"In 2022, the demand of large Russian companies and logistics operators for warehouse space in the CIS countries has doubled and continues to grow. In all countries, with the exception of Azerbaijan, there is a shortage of free warehouse space," the materials say.

According to NF Group, the volume of requests from Russian companies for warehouse space in the post-Soviet countries currently amounts to about 400 thousand sq. m. It is not easy to grow into transactions for this volume of requests, since there is no high-quality rental offer, there are also few prepared sites for development, analysts say.

In particular, the high interest in Kazakhstan is due to the country's initiatives to create logistics centers on the borders with neighboring countries - Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. In addition, several major projects and cooperation agreements between neighboring states in the field of transport infrastructure and logistics development were announced in 2022. Thus, the Central Asian countries are working on the creation of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway route, the modernization of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-India transport corridor, which will have an impact on the development of the warehouse segment.
