OREANDA-NEWS. A significant part of foreign business, having reconfigured supply chains, will return to work in Russia. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“A significant proportion of the decisions of foreign companies to suspend work in the Russian Federation is associated with logistical problems,” the minister specified.

Reshetnikov stressed that it is important for the Russian economy to maintain a market character in order to avoid a downturn in economic activity and be able to recover quickly.

In addition, according to the minister, it is important for the authorities to maintain maximum flexibility in pricing in the Russian Federation, since excessive pressure on retail chains and manufacturers is fraught with shortages.

Earlier, a member of the parliamentary committee on security and anti-corruption, Sultan Khamzaev, took the initiative to create a register of commercial structures that left the Russian market or suspended work on it for political reasons. According to him, it is necessary to establish a new status for such companies - unreliable legal entities, brands, trademark owners. Khamzaev also called for additional taxes to be imposed on those foreign organizations that decide to return to Russia.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, more than 250 foreign companies suspended work in Russia or left the Russian market, calculated at Yale University. In particular, IKEA, Inditex (brands Zara, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, etc.), Mango, H&M, Nike and others closed their stores in the Russian Federation.
