OREANDA-NEWS  The official representative of the Jeep manufacturer in Russia, recalls 1,217 Jeep Grand Cherokee cars sold since 2018 with VIN codes. This was reported on Monday on the website of Rosstandart.

Vehicles are being recalled due to the fact that the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock braking system module (HCU/ABS) may incorrectly determine the pressure in the primary circuit. "Due to incorrect determination of the pressure in the primary circuit by the hydraulic control unit of the ABS module, brake lights may be switched on unauthorized. In addition, the system can allow you to start the engine and move the gear selector lever from the parking position without pressing the brake pedal," Rosstandart said in a statement.

A control inspection will be carried out on all vehicles as a precautionary measure, and appropriate work will be carried out if necessary.

All owners of cars subject to the recall will be informed of the need to provide the vehicle to the nearest dealership for repair work.

In addition, owners can independently, without waiting for a message from an authorized dealer, determine on the Rosstandart website whether their vehicle is subject to a recall by comparing the VIN code of their car with the list of those subject to the recall program. Repair work will be carried out free of charge, the report says.
