OREANDA-NEWS  In the next 10 years, 39 new metro stations will be built and opened in the capital of Russia. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction, spoke about the plans of local authorities. His words are published on the official website of the Mayor of Moscow.

The increase in the number of stations will ensure high walking accessibility of the metro for residents of the city, Bochkarev explained. The message on the website states that it also contributes to the distribution of passenger flows. Thus, the congestion of public transport is reduced and citizens spend less time on the road.

According to the deputy mayor, about 35 kilometers of new lines and 15 metro stations are currently being built in Moscow. Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened the fourth route of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD-4) — Kaluga-Nizhny Novgorod. In Agusta, passenger traffic was opened on the third route of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD-3).

The head of state earlier proudly announced "huge, grandiose plans" for the development of the country's infrastructure.
