A dangerous highway was blocked in the Russian region

OREANDA-NEWS Automobile traffic on the Tyumen — Tobolsk — Khanty-Mansiysk highway was temporarily blocked. The decision was made in connection with the ice, reports Ura.ru with reference to representatives of FKU Uralupravtodor.
"Traffic has been completely stopped up to the border of the Tyumen region," the operational duty officer of the organization said. It is clarified that restrictions were imposed on the section from the 436th to the 542nd kilometer in the Tyumen region and the section from the 572nd to the 698th kilometer in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, where work is underway on deicing of the roadway.
The Tyumen— Tobolsk— Khanty-Mansiysk highway was recognized as the most dangerous federal road in the region in 2023. According to the traffic police, there are more than a hundred accidents there every year. Over the past 2.5 years, 101 deaths have been recorded.
Earlier, five people, including three children, died after a head—on collision of a car with a truck on the Tyumen- Khanty-Mansiysk highway.
