OREANDA-NEWS A fully domestic electric car will appear in Russia within two years, and the rapid development of this type of transport is evident. This was stated by Evgeny Antipov, a well–known Russian chemist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the Department of Electrochemistry at the Chemical Faculty of Moscow State University, on the sidelines of the XI All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum "Science of the Future - Science of the Young", which is taking place these days in Nizhny Novgorod.

Leading Russian and foreign scientists, heads of laboratories created under the mega-grant program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, representatives of government and business, young researchers and technology entrepreneurs gathered here on one platform.

"According to my forecasts, a fully domestic electric car will appear in a year or two. Based on global experience, we see the rapid development of electric transport," he said, adding that 25 percent of all passenger vehicles produced in the world are electric vehicles. According to him, the sales leaders are China, the EU and the USA.
According to the scientist, electric vehicles have a number of important advantages, and they become much more attractive to buyers simply because the price of a battery for such a car is drastically reduced.
