OREANDA-NEWS "AvtoVAZ" confirmed the plan to produce several thousand Lada Azimut in 2026 and about 20 thousand in 2027, according to a statement to journalists by the head of the company Maxim Sokolov.

""This year we will produce several thousand, depending, let's say, on the "acceleration" of sales, which come with a handicap of two, sometimes three months after the start of production," said the top manager.

He also assured that the manufacturer, as promised earlier, will open sales before the end of 2026.

""And next year we have plans ... to produce at least about 20,000 cars as the first launch year, taking into account the fact that sales in the first quarter will also be "promoted" throughout the dealer network," Sokolov added.

Lada Azimut is "AvtoVAZ's" new crossover, which the company first presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum a year ago. It is based on the Vesta platform and will be equipped with upgraded 1.6- and 1.8-liter engines with 120 and 132 horsepower at launch.

The start of serial production of the model is scheduled for September 25.
